Willem van Malsen (Utrecht, 7 January 1940 – 1 June 2005) was a Dutch artist, best known in the 1970s and 1980s. Van Malsen was a painter, illustrator, cartoonist, déchirure maker, inventor and writer. His work can be seen as one big experiment in form, incorporating many different influences and currents. He worked from 1967 to 1970 from Paris as a political cartoonist for the French magazine L' Enragé, Vrij Nederland and the Haagse Post. In 1970, he returned to the Netherlands. In 2008, the Centraal Museum in Utrecht dedicated an exhibition to him.
